Extremely Slow Steam Download Speed
Extremely slow download speeds? Same my speed on any other game launcher like steam, blizzard, or origin are fine at a usual 10-12 mb/s. Uplay though that's a different story. Uplay launcher cant update it starts at 10 mb/s then drops to 80 kb/s then 0B/s then. I recently downloaded Windows 10 and am having awful download speeds compared to what they were with Windows 7. With Windows 7 I averaged about 9.8MB/s. With Windows 10 I am getting 400KB/s max. At one point after restarting steam, the download went all the way up to 1024KB/S, but only for about 5 seconds until returning back to around 345KB/s. I read a similar problem somewhere where McAfee was causing slow Steam download speeds, and after uninstalling it the speeds returned to normal. Perhaps the Security in Windows 10 could be the problem? I tried disabling the Firewall and turning on Windows Defender but had no luck. Any other suggestions? Thanks!
My app_update, on linux SteamCMD, is running extremely slow on my 100 MB/s network, so is there a way I could make it download faster? Maybe by changing the download location somehow? It also seems to be downloading in small chunks.

While downloading, make sure other people in your network aren't doing download-intensive things, such as YouTube and playing Steam games. Know that connection speeds also fluctuate throughout the day, especially in peak times.
(Are you sure that your download speed is 100 MB/s? That's probably your Ethernet downlink speed, not the speed you're paying for.)
There is also a possibility that the content server that SteamCMD is downloading from is under heavy load. Currently, there is no (documented) way of changing it. Meek mill arrested.

If your server is being hosted somewhere else, talk with your host/ISP about the issue.
